Dina Mackney: Gem Inspired Cocktail

It’s summertime and we’re feeling fine in the Dina Mackney studio! We all love the simple pleasures that the warm weather affords: dining al fresco, evening walks to view the sunset, and lazy days spent reading on the beach. While great on their own, I believe each of these little luxuries would be elevated with a great cocktail and superb gems! The newest designs to my website feature varying takes on lemon chrysoprase; this stone has a wonderful subtle yellow tone, smooth surface, and creamy dimension. When paired with cooler toned gems like hematite and jade, chrysoprase is a standout option for summer nights. Try the Lemon Chrysoprase Pinwheel Earrings, Lemon Chrysoprase Cuff, or Lemon Chrysoprase Drop earrings paired with a white maxi dress for an effortless summer dining ensemble.

Now back to that cocktail. Our Director of Sales, Margaret, recently alerted us to a great after meal refreshment that she enjoyed frequently during a fabulous trip to Capri.

Sgroppino is an Italian drink originated in Venice, Italy. Made with lemon sorbet, vodka, and prosecco, this frothy concoction makes for a great palette cleanser at the end of a meal or the perfect adult dessert to close the evening. This recipe by celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis is sure to please at your next outdoor gathering. Put your own spin on this Italian classic by using limoncello in place of vodka or swapping your favorite champagne for the prosecco.
