Holiday Dressing: Dinas Top Jewelry Picks

It’s November and I’m wondering if anyone else is as excited for the impending holiday season as I am?? The Dina Mackney team is already planning for the myriad of events quickly filling our calendars and look forward to making new memories with family and friends. In the midst of all the excitement, the age old “what to wear” question can be daunting as you prepare your schedule. I tend to plan my outfits around the jewelry I feel best in. This approach helps tremendously because I can easily reach for basic pieces when the star of my look is already decided on!

This season, I’m particularly smitten with bold necklaces for evening. They are certainly a conversation starter! To give you some “jewel-spiration,” I’ve highlighted my favorite styles this season that have recently been added to our website. I’ve also shown how each style can be worn with items you already own, taking some of the guesswork out of the process. The only thing you’ll need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your event!

The Choker:

This style may veer too trendy for some. While I understand your concern, it’s still important to test the waters (you never know, you may just find a new favorite silhouette!). There are several new choker styles available on our e-boutique, including a stunning Hematite and White Topaz Choker Necklace that is a vivid blend of classic materials and modern design.  The use of memory wire allows the necklace to stretch to any size, meaning you can wear it high as a choker or pull it down for a more traditional collar style.

For those willing to try the season’s boldest trends, look no further than the Moonstone and Garnet Choker Necklace. Illustrious pieces of titanium coated moonstone are a wonderful contrast to the rich look of 18K gold vermeil and red garnet.

I’d continue with the victorian feel of each necklace by pairing them with a romantic velvet dress! For the Hematite and White Topaz choker, this style of dress would look great with a classic black or nude pump and simple clutch. If you’re seeking more drama, pair it with the Moonstone and Garnet Collar and add a pair of the season’s best block heeled booties!

The Long Semi-Precious Beaded Necklace:

If you’ve read my previous posts, then you know that a long semi-precious necklace is a jewelry essential for me! We’ve added two new styles in this silhouette to our website and I am so excited to share them with you! First, we have the Ruby Triple Strand Necklace. Red ruby is to holiday inspired jewelry what poinsettia is to a festive dining room table top design! This style adds major drama to any look and will put you in a celebratory mood instantly. Allow pieces of red ruby and 18K gold vermeil accents to shine bright with your favorite warm weather ensembles.

If your jewelry wardrobe tends to lean more towards lighter metals, try the Silver Moonstone Necklace. Luminous moonstone is combined with pave set white topaz accents to offer a cool tone for the holidays.

Pair any of these necklaces with sleek separates to ensure you are sophisticated, yet comfortable at your next holiday gathering. I would reach for classic cropped pants and a thin turtleneck to really spotlight each piece. For yet another style alternative, try wrapping the singe strand necklaces to form a short, multi strand look. Paired with a great ballerina flat or elegant sandal, you’ll be ready for whatever your night may bring!

This is such an incredible time of year and I think it is important to plan ahead and share our style methods so we are all able to enjoy each special moment to the fullest. Do you have any tips for creating a fail-proof outfit during the holidays? If so, I’d love to hear them! Be sure to use the #mydina hashtag on your social media images to show me how you wear your Dina Mackney designs or highlight your favorite looks from this post. Here’s to a stress free holiday season!
